What Major League Baseball teams have hosted the most All Star games?
I was curious and would like to know which MLB teams have hosted the All Star games and how many times was each team the host? Are there any cities who have not hosted the event? In the past I believe there were two games a year. Has any team hosted both of the games and if so was there ever a sweep by one of the leagues? Were the same playing rosters used during the two game era? How are the teams selected? Was it by the managers and players vote or did the fans take part as they do now? Has there always been a rule that states every team must be represented?

The Major League Baseball All-Star Game has been held in 54 different stadiums since the first game in 1933. The stadiums that held the game the most times is Yankee Stadium and Cleveland Municipal Stadium, four times each. It was held at Commiskey Park, Sportsman's Park and Fenway Park three times each. Busch Stadium, home of the Saint Louis Cardinals, has held the game twice. Jacobs Field, home of the Cleveland Indians has held the game once. So the Cardinals and the Indians have hosted the game the most times, with five each. Three Rivers Stadium has hosted the game twice, which means the Pittsburgh Pirates have been the host team four times, wihch ties the New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox. I think the only teams that have not hosted the All Star Game are the Florida Marlins, Tampa Bay Rays, Arizona Diamondbacks and the Washington Nationals, although it must be noted that RFK Stadium and DC Stadium hosted the game while the Washington Senators where in DC. The Senators later became the Minnesota Twins.
In 1933 and 1934 the All Star teams were selected by the managers and the fans. From 1935 through 1946, managers from each league selected the entire team for the game. From 1947 to 1957, fans selected the starters and the manager selected the pitchers and rest of the roster. From 1958 to 1969 the All Star rosters were selected by managers, players, and coaches, with no input by the fans . From 1970 through 2002 the fans vote for the starters, while the manager selects the pitchers and rest of the roster and starting in 2003 players had a influence in the selection process.
