I use Phyto Phytorhum Fortifying Shampoo because it has egg yolk and rum it. Funny story, someone shipped a package to my loft in NYC with a bunch of these bottle in it and i couldnt get the company to take back the box.

a year later i tried it, feel in love with it and I haven't stopped using it yet. it gives you hair extra body, which for my very straight/thin hair is great.

I like trying different brands so whenever I'm showering at other people's homes (hmm...that doesn't sound good), I try out their products. My current shampoo is Lexus. It used to be a salon only brand but is now sold in drugstores and Costco! Not cheap but cleans and conditions very well. Someone gave me a sample bottle of Kiehls and it's great but even more expensive. Another high end brand called Molto Bene is a Japanese line and is truly awesome. Leaves your hair clean for days and silky smooth. A couple of the more affordable and still effective brands are Garnier Fructissse (although I recently heard it causes cancer. Then again, if you listen to enough, everything causes cancer.) and Infusium 23. But of course, every product works differently depending on the kind of hair you have. I have very thick, slightly wavy hair. And when you simply can't decide, go with the smell=)

I tend to switch shampoos every so often, but I've been sticking with the Garnier Fructissse line lately.

I like the way they smell and I have tried several of their different formulations, for oily hair, for frizzy hair, and to get hair "smooth and sleek."

Although most of that is marketing, it's fairly resonably priced, lasts a long time and I really like how my hair feels after I use it.

I tend to switch shampoos every time I go to the supermarket. Right now I am using Herbal Essences Body Envy which comes in an orange bottle and smells like white nectarines. There are women all over the website, but I'm perfectly comfortable using a shampoo that makes my hair smell like fruit.

The standard shampoos one finds at Trader Joe's are excellent -- inexpensive, simple, light, with no frills or fragrances. I usually use three bottles of the shampoo for every one bottle of conditioner. My guess is that they are in the $1.99 range.

I personally feel that using anything from a place like Rite-Aid or Wal-Mart damages hair follicles in the scalp. The green stuff like Prell, Pert, etc. I feel -- again personally -- is toxic. I have no basis for this other than the simple observation that if it's clear, it's better for you. The clearer the shampoo, the less engineering and marketing went into it, and the better it is for your hair.

Again, I have no basis for this opinion other than instinct.

I am a shampoo junkie - and I am fickle. The one I keep coming back to is Jonathan's Shampoo Add Moisture Moisturizing Shampoo. I have very fine hair but it is thick - so it can be tricky to find something that cleans and moisturizes without making me look like a drowned rat! The shampoo is sulfate-free and won't strip out color. It is pricey, but you only need a little bit to do the trick!

Head and Shoulders. It's cheap, and I either don't have a problem with dandruff, or the stuff really works.

This may seem gross, but I don't actually use shampoo very often. Whenever I use it, it tends to make my hair go completely flat and I find it hard to give it that tussled, just got out of bed look that all the kids love these days. Although back in the day, I do remember using Pert Plus - as it had shampoo and conditioner in one - which definitely saved a lot of time and money.
