What kind of muscles does Pilates target?

From what I have been able to determine the work out program Pilates targets all muscles of the human body. The way that Pilates does this is by using the muscle groups in the center of the body, that include the abdomen, the back, the buttocks, the hips and the inner thighs, which are classified as the power house muscles.

By using the power house muscles in Pilates the system works its way out into the muscles of the arms and the legs. So yes Pilates does appear to straighten the arm muscles as well as all the other muscles of muscles by using designed controlled movements. These type of movements are designed to benefit a persons physical as well as mental well being.
