It looks like a sled dog (i.e., Husky, et al.),
but a more complete picture would have helped,
including side and front views
(even seeing the tail or paws would have helped!).
Of course, given the background of your photo,
it could also be that most rare of breeds,
the Suburban Tire Guard Dog! ;)

Any veterinarian will be able to give a good estimate of its age,
based not only on its height, but also on its paws
(you are getting the dog licensed, vaccinated, and neutered, right?),
and there are tests you can buy at any pet store
(or have your vet do for you; highly recommended),
that will give a most-likely breed(s) list of your dog for under $100.

FWIW, my family got such a test in NY for $65 for our mutt, shown below
(it was the lowest/cheapest type of such DNA-based tests for dogs),
against my wishes, as I didn't see that it made any difference,
either to us or to the dog, though the vet thought it might help her training,
as she was something of a wild-child!
I had guessed that she was mostly Border Collie,
because, even though she looks like any other mutt
(i.e., totally non-specific breed by appearance),
her actions and mannerisms are Border Collie through-and-through!
The rest of the family thought something like Lassie or German Shepherd.
We did not tell any of our guesses to the vet.
The test came back a month later
indicating 80% Border Collie and 20% Akita,
the latter of which none of us believes, not even the vet!
This particular test has a 90% accuracy rating,
so we accepted the Border Collie part as gospel!
Of course, the test proved, conclusively and with 100% accuracy,
that I'm always right! ;)

P.S. Respectfully, the word is either "purebreed" or "purebred",
unless, of course, you believe that your dog is from the Sandwich Islands! ;)

Probbably an Alaskan Malamute.

The head does not look like a Siberian Husky. They have black arround their eyes.

On the purebred side, you'll have to get a DNA test to prove. With the age, any veterinarian will help.

From the pics I'd say the dog is between a year and two years old.

Wikipedia has a nice listing of all sled dogs here.
