Julia Child cooked French cuisine. Although she was a History major, when her and husband Paul Cushing Child moved temporarily to France, she decided to attend the world renowned Le Cordon Bleu culinary school for to learn French cuisine. During her lifetime, she published over fifteen cookbooks. Her most well known cookbook to date is Mastering the Art of French Cooking.
Some of her most famous recipes and food were Beef Bourguignonne (beef stew), Coq au Vin (casserole of chicken in red wine), Pissaladière (french pizza with caramelized onions, anchovies, and onions), Cream of Leek and Potato Soup, Chocolate Roulade, Poulet Sauté aux Herbes de Provence (chicken, thyme, basil and fennel sautéed with a butter and wine sauce), and Reine de Saba (cake with chocolate-butter icing and undercooked batter).
