What is your most dreaded interview question?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

What is a weakness of yours?

I believe in focusing on my strengths. I've become an avid follower of Marcus Buckingham and his 'Strengths' focused approach to work. That question always feels like a no-win proposition. Do you reveal a true weakness that has nothing to do with the job or do you have a contrived answer like the frequently used 'I'm a perfectionist?'

How have you done bad/failed in the past? (or something to that effect). Why should we hire you? Where do you see yourself in 5/10 years? etc.

I know that people who ask these standard questions have just shown me that they don't know how to interview. Some of these cliche questions are just not useful... and then I have to guess what they really want to ask... or ask them about what they're looking for. Or just give them a cliche answer back...

It worries me because they are looking for a comfortable fit for a PERSON and not a JOB.
