If I'm up for a substantive movie, I'll take Tom Hanks in Charlie Wilson's War. But if I'm looking for feel-good, then You've Got Mail wins out, even over Sleepless in Seattle. Why these two? In both he's deft at playing against his strengths and is quite adept at making you love to hate him, without chewing up the scenery. Hanks generously leaves room for the other actors, and trusts the story to develop. So between these two, I'll give Charlie Wilson's War the victory. Love this interview with clips interspersed, too.
