Christmas reminds me of my childhood days, mostly good moments. The atmosphere of Christmas day makes me happy. Christmas trees, decorations, toys displayed everywhere on the street and in shops, Pictures of Santa, gifts, spending quality time with the family, food, chocolats, exclusive TV programs for that day or week(cartoons, films for e.g Bambi, Home Alone and so on related to Christmas) and so on, makes the event special.

In my childhood days, for every Christmas, my parents and later, me, used to set up a Christmas Tree. When I used to believe in Santa Claus and he visiting us at midnight to give us gifts and so on was kind of fun. We used to talked about what we asked Santa for Christmas. Once, I even wrote what I wanted on card on the Christmas Tree for Santa to see. On some occasions my parents used to invite members of the family to dine at home or we were guests at others' homes. So, I was meeting my cousins for the occasion and we were having fun playing and chatting together. All these cheered me up. I love cartoons and those aired around Christmas were nice. I used to watch them. There are so many more things to say about that event.

Grosso modo, my favorite thing about Christmas is its unique atmosphere.

I love Christmas because all people seemed happy during the holidays. I love walking on the streets seeing people smile at you even you don't know them. And I love seeing happy kids! ^^

It's also nice walking around and seeing each homes beautifully decorated during the holidays. In the Philippines, people really takes effort to decorate their houses with bright, twinkling lights and other Christmas ornaments every year. It's fun walking at night to see such sights. :)

Also, every year, in our town, there is a giant lantern festival where different towns participate and compete on which lantern is the best. Below is our town's entry last year. :) Lanterns are approximately 20 feet and to build them, they need up to 5,000 light bulbs. It's fun to watch them in person cause I'm amazed of how they actually created and engineered the whole thing. XD (I can't find a better video on Youtube though)

Plus, I love Christmas cause it brings family together. :)

When I was a child my favorite thing about Christmas was all the presents that we got, one year we had a porch full of presents and we do not to this day know where they came from, my mom and dad were not expecting it either and so that was a wonderful Christmas.

As I started to grow older I loved going to my step dad's parents house in the state of Minnesota, the winter up there was beautiful. It was a family tradition that I can always remember now that my step dad is passed away and my grandpa that we went to visit, I know that them two will always be together in a better place.

Now In my adult life I would have to say my favorite thing about Christmas is more about being with family more so than the presents now, I guess that is something someone has to learn on their own. I love all the Christmas dinners and parties that we get to go to and watching the Christmas television shows like the Grinch who stole Christmas and all of those types of shows. I also love the Christmas lights on the trees around town and in the stores that they have up, I also love sitting near the fireplace and soaking up the warmth of the fire on Christmas morning with a cup of hot chocolate.

Family. Of course along with family is bonding time.

I only get to see my nephew (and his parents) twice a year. It would only be twice this year, because we went out to see them.

There are also a lot of other family members I don't get to see very often, so it's nice to see them.

The fact that God sent his only son as baby Jesus, to live among us and teach us the way to live with love and compassion, and teach us that there are rewards for doing right and consequences for doing wrong. The whole story about the angels and the star and the shepherds and the wise men, about Mary and Joseph and the long trip to Bethlehem and the birth in the manger. Peace on Earth, good will toward men, and the people who walked in darkness have seen a great light! I love how Old Simon held the child in his arms, standing in the Temple, said he could now die in peace as he had seen God's redemption. I love how God made this sacrifice for us, knowing how it would end, with the death of His Son for us, to pay our penalty, to put us back in right relationship with Him. I love how Jesus left His home and place of honor in heaven and came to live in the dirt like the rest of us.

One of the best tellers of the Christmas Story is Linus, give it a listen:
