Without a doubt for me, TNG reigns supreme.

While the various spin-offs that came after were interesting and I definitely dug DS Nine and Voyager, to me they didn't have the range that TNG does -- and that's why there are TNG movies and none from the other spin-offs. TNG has a set of characters that are interesting and engaging in a hopeful sense. While the conflicts on DSN were deep and interesting between the subjugator Cardassians and the oppressed Bjorans, it meant that the characters on DSN carried all this emotional baggage. Some of them were very dark, even when they didn't want to be. Many struggled with themselves and with their lots as members of the DSN crew.

Meanwhile, the air of TNG is always one of hope, of looking to the future. Almost every episode that I've seen (admittedly, my knowledge of TNG is imperfect because the DVDs are so damned expensive) deals in some way with Data's quest to better himself -- indeed it becomes central to the progression of the entire show. Couple with this a captain in Picard that had all the best qualities of Kirk with none of the ladies' man goofiness, and a crew whose nature was at all times upbeat and light-hearted, and I think you have the clear winner: the true realization of what Star Trek and its ideals could accomplish.

This is a hard question to answer. For one, I don't want to have to publicly admit to having watched so much star trek, but also because I found that I really enjoyed Enterprise. I can't say that it is my favorite because so few episodes were made and because without the other series I'm sure I would have hated it. TNG is what I grew up watching so it is my favorite, but Enterprise really pulled me into the show more. It didn't seem as futuristic (because it wasn't) and therefore was easier to relate to.

I like both Voyager and Next Generation, although Deep Space Nine grew on me. The characters were well developed and the story lines were good.

It has to be the original series. Just the graphics alone make them worth watching. Especially when I need a good laugh.

Although The Original Series is indeed campy, it is my favorite because it has Roddenberry's hopeful vision of a future where racism and nationalism have no place and technology is used to accomplish wondrous things.

From TNG on, however, there is a creeping luddism with the introduction of the Borg. No longer is technology simply a tool mankind uses to achieve its highest ideals; rather, technological advances become something to be feared.

The original. No facts, sorry...just that, I've seen them all, and when I saw the later ones, I didn't get that "schmaltzy" feel of the first one. The truly flakey uniforms. The truly flakey set. The truly flakey miniskirts of the female officers. Everything, truly flakey...and because of that, perfect, and I'm being kind, because I LOVED it.

TNG FTW!

Gene really had an opportunity to talk about controversial subjects in a way that noone would see it coming. It seemed that, in the other series, there were great stories, but not as "deep" as TNG.

Of course, early on, the stories and dialog were pretty pathetic, but it was new Trek! All was forgiven... TNG just got better with age.

I think without the success of "Star Trek Next Generation" we would never had
"Star Trek Deep Space Nine". I think the story and acting in DSN is by far the best of any of the series.
