What is your favorite sitcom of the 1990s and why?

Tip for best answer: M$0.35
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I would have to say Growing Pains. The interaction between the Seaver family was hilarious, but also something that most families could relate to back then. It also helped that Kirk Cameron was such a hottie back them. :-) Leonardo DiCaprio joined the cast in the last couple of seasons as a homeless teen that the Seaver family took into their home.

Seinfeld of course! Why? Because it was hysterically funny. They said, and did things, that related to real life happenings, but did, and said things most people would never do. I love the Soup Nazi episode, and the one where they have a contest to see who can go without masturbating the longest. LOL I love it!

I have to say "Friends", because I never missed it until the last season, when I was working nights and had no way to record it. I bought the DVD as soon as it came out though, and had a Friends marathon that weekend.

I had a BF once who was so jealous of the fact that I would not miss Friends for anything, that he would purposely call me at 8:00 every Thursday night. He hated the show. I got to where I would just answer, say "8 o'clock, Friends, later." and hang up. It was just so petty of him to do that.

Friends was the one show where I had a hard time picking a favorite, but if I had to pick a guy and a girl, it would be Phoebe and Joey. Nothing funnier than a beautiful, spacey chick and a really dumb, good looking guy.

Joey's spinoff was badly written and badly managed, I think, because he was a great actor.

Unfortunately for everyone else who's attempted to answer this question, lschwab is absolutely correct. Haha. You might think that colttrickle's question doesn't have a single correct answer...but you'd be wrong. Seinfeld is the answer. QED

Many people think that Seinfeld was a "show about nothing." However, really, the show was about everything. Specifically, many of the things in life that aren't often talked about. This probably is one reason why the show reached such a critical mass: people of all types could so easily relate to the topics the show dealt with.

But, certainly no one should take my word for it. Watch the show yourself! It's still syndicated on so many channels that you can catch an episode any day of the week. Watch a few episodes and you'll completely agree: If we're wondering what sitcom of the '90s was the best, the answer's simply got to be Seinfeld. Oh yes!

I don't think it would qualify as sitcom, but Northern Exposure was a great show, with lots of humor! And, isn't that where Sarah Palin got her start?

Not sure if this counts since it lasted through the 2000s, but Friends was a really fantastic show. Got kind of "soap opera-y" towards the end there, but the earlier seasons were really awesome.

I would have to say Beverly Hills 90210. It led a generation in a way...

That was really a sitcom was it? More of a teen drama.
