What is your Favorite Recorded Scream?!

LeRoy Stevens compiled an album of the best screams in recorded music, selected by employees of NYC record stores. What is you personal FAVORITE recorded SCREAM?

Yes, all-caps are appropriate since we are shouting. Post a video of your favorite SCREAM!!!
Tip for best answer: M$5.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

OK, I'm going to cheat a little. I can't think of a song with a scream in it that is my favorite, but I can think of a "Favorite Recorded Scream" (which is, in my defense, the un-expanded upon question!). This, is the Wilhelm Scream:

http://hollywoodlostandfound.net/sounds/Wilhelm_tk4.wav

Pre-digital era sound effects (Foley) were generally created in-house at the studio (like they are today), but finding and using the recording was a pain and giant sfx libraries were not really possible, so some classic sound effects got used over and over and over (and over) again. Famous Foley artist Ben Burtt gave the effect the name "Wilhelm" and used it in all of his movies as a kind of inside joke. He named the effect after a character named Pvt. Wilhelm that gets shot in the leg by an arrow (and, of course, screams) in "The Charge at Feather River" (1953). His research led him to his best guess that actor/singer Sheb Wooley is the voice behind "The Wilhelm Scream." Here are a FEW of the movies you can hear the Wilhelm scream in (I would not be surprised if it was used in a song or two or ten, but I can't think of any offhand):

"Them!" (1954), "Land of the Pharaohs" (1955), "The Sea Chase" (1955), "Sergeant Rutledge" (1960), "PT-109" (1963), "The Green Berets (1968), "The Scarlet Blade" (1974), "Star Wars" (1977), "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (1981), "Poltergeist" (1982), "Batman Returns" (1992), "Planet of the Apes" (2001), "Agent Cody Banks" (2003), "Madagascar" (2005), "Toy Story" (1995), "Hercules" (1997), "Pirates of the Caribbean" (2003), "Beauty and the Beast" (1991), "Aladdin" (1992), "A Goofy Movie" (1995), "The Fifth Element" (1997), “The Majestic” (2001), “Just Visiting” (2001), “A Man Apart” (2003), "Tears of the Sun" (2003), "Hollywood Boulevard" (1976), "Explorers" (1985), "Gremlins 2" (1990), "The Second Civil War" (1997), “Matinee” (1993), "Looney Tunes: Back in Action" (2003)...

etc. etc. (Epic credit to Steve Lee for the research on this!)

Bonus Fun: now that you know what the Wilhelm Scream sounds like, you'll hear it all the time when watching TV!

I second this motion! I like to sneak the Wilhelm scream into my commercials when possible, and judging from the commercials that play in my DMA, so do a lot of other editors. :)

And I found a song! "Wilhelm Scream Dream Team"

http://webetheecho.bandcamp.com/track/wilhelm-scream-dream-team

Actually, never heard of the band before (We Be the Echo Masks), but they're pretty darn good, and the "Wilhelm Scream" in it is hysterical. Also "Yinxianghechengqi" by Tortoise apparently.

I have more than one! Because there are multiple catagories
Animals
I love this on
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4W6VxtNZjok
Or this one if it just has to be one animal, the screaming frog, you have to hear it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=948rhsRvIkw

For a song it would be the scream at the beginning of this song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JtYlaPYh3w

Or this one because it is so cute, kinda scary, but the baby gets so excited and starts happy screaming and passes out

Trying to copy a famous movie, Fay Wray scream sounds so dramatic, I could not find her scream, BUT this little girl trys to copy, it sounds great!

It's no secret that I dig Linkin Park, so I'd have to pick the scream in "Faint." Wait for about 2:25 here:

I have to agree with @mysterygirl89 about the screaming animals.

So I will just stick to my 80s heavy metal selections.
There are too many to choose from so I selected two that have the best screams right up front. (to spare those less metal inclined)

Accept - Fast as a Shark (about 20 seconds in, but don't skip! it ruins the fun of it)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTeXBTStek0

Metal Church - Burial at Sea
Not quite the same effect with youtube audio quality, but one of my favs

Accept! What a flashback to 83. "Balls to the wall" I used to rock Accept till my mom threw away the cassette player. :( She wasn't much for the screaming.

Yes, it was our preferred parental torture device of the day.
Back then, my mother (and my friends mothers) just assumed that every screaming metal song we listened to was Ozzy Osbourne (the devil that bit the heads off of bats)

Then we put in "fast as a shark" and they would get a puzzled look by the "hi dee hi do hi dah". And boy would we have a long haired chuckle when the screaming part started in! Ah, those were the days...

I LIKE SCREAMS that occur just before an AMAZING ROCK GUITAR SOLO, so I'll say that my FAVORITE RECORDED SCREAM is the one SCREAMED BY JOHN LENNON (PAUL MCCARTNEY in the version below) at the beginning of the song "REVOLUTION."

I hope you know what I'm talking about here - the one in Star Wars where someone is thrown!!?
They use this same scream in a lot of other things too, like in all the Indiana Jones films and even in Family Guy!!

It sounds like: "AAAAAHOOOO!!"

(I can't believe I just tried to write what that sounds like...)

However, my fave MUSIC scream is probably any one of Zac de la Rocha's screams From Rage Aganist the Machine - in particular, the one in Sleep Now in the Fire - wow, just thinking about it gives me chills!! MAN he was mad!!!

"Screaming" Jay Hawkins' recording of "Constipation Blues", 1969. Mercury Records. Catalogue Number: 127.489 MCF.

Umm-ummmh aeoh! Umm-uoomh! Ooh! Oh! Uh uh!. Aaah. Uoh, aah!
Let it go! Let it go! Let it go! Let it go!
I don't believe I can take much more. Let it go! Aah!
Got a pain down inside,
won't be denied.
Yeah, every time I try,
I can't be satisfied.

I really like Leona Lewis "Bleeding Love"; it's not too much of a scream. She has a great voice!

If you want something a little harsher check out the Heart video "Crazy on You!

How about not one scream but a whole compilation of screams and high notes from Adam Lambert who is the best screamer or screecher out there. I've never heard anyone scream like this before and I love it!!!!

Just a word for the trumpet players. Yes we can SCREAM. It is one of the most fun and hardest things to do on the instrument. Here check em out:

This next one is Rick Baptist recording the soundtrack for The Incredibles. Check out the beginning and end of the clip!:
