What is your favorite National Park? What did you like about the Park?

What sites should I see?

Did you stay in lodging or camp?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Yosemite. It's within 4 hours of my house. It's so beautiful (once you get away from the tourists ;-).

I've "lodged" MANY different ways in Yosemite. Staying in the valley is perfect. Lots of great hiking from right there. My favorite day-hike is up to Vernal Falls via the "mist trail".

I've done three/four day packs over Cloud's Rest (look to the left of half-dome... that knife edge mountain? That's Cloud's Rest... and that knife edge IS about only one or two yards wide.) We just finished three days backpacking up in Tuolumne area (just beyond Mirror Lake). I've also done a three day from the back-side of the valley into the valley.

I've stayed at the pre-constructed tents in the valley. I've stayed at a hotel just outside the park.

The only thing I haven't done is stay at the Ahwahnee Hotel. I'd LOVE to do that in Winter.

Grand Canyon National Park. Beauty, hiking, peacefulness, what more is there to say?

Yosemite National Park is my favorite. Its spectacular and diverse attractions make it one of the best parks in the world. It includes high Sierra Peaks, the highest highway pass in California, the Yosemite Valley, Merced River, many acres of high altitude back country, some of the highest waterfalls in the world, and some of the largest living things on earth in the Sequoia Groves. Yosemite Valley features El Capitan, Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, and other well known scenic venues.
