What is your favorite Marx Brothers movie?

I've never seen a Marx Brothers movie, but know I would likely enjoy the humor, as every bit Groucho gag I've ever seen cracks me up.

So which movie is your favorite? What are the good Marx Bros. movies? What are the BAD Marx Bros. movies to skip?

Where do I start?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Duck Soup! So funny! The Marx Brothers were so ahead of their time. I'm 24 and usually don't like old movies, but I can watch the Marx Brothers forever.

I also recommend the other ones I have seen: Horse Feathers, A Day at the Races, A Night at the Opera

I would start with Duck Soup, then Horse Feathers and branch out from there. Just have your remote ready next to you. I always had to rewind Groucho's lines to fully get what he said. Some of his lines can have so many funny angles in them you keep finding new stuff to laugh at each time.

Duo comedy between Harpo and Chico is excellent, as well as when all three interact. Don't expect much from Zeppo in the humor department though, he is the serious actor.

In the music department, Harpo alone simply amazes me! He was a musical genius in real life who could sit down with any instrument and within a few hours play it like a master! His harp playing is superb and is amazing to watch as it is such a rare talent!

I had all of their most popular movies on tape when I was young and watched them over and over.

If you're not sure where or how to start, you might want to go through them chronologically.

(all movies from 1930 to 1939!)

Out of all the movies, my favorite is Night at the Opera.
Why?
Because I learned all of my basic math and civic skills from this one great scene!
