What is your favorite General Mills Cereal? Mine is Raisin Brand

Tip for best answer: M$0.02
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

My all time favorite General Mills Cereal is Cheerios. I prefer the original ones but Honey Nut Cheerios are a close second. For the cereal lover, there is a printable coupon available as of April 12, 2010 at Grow Up Strong

Does Cheerios help reduce the chance of heart disease?

The theory is that oats are high in protein and low in fat. The low fat diet lowers the cholesterol and help prevent heart disease. Is there a correlation between fat in diets and heart disease?

My personal opinion is yes, but I have nothing scientific to base it on. Just my own experience. A couple of years ago my annual blood test showed a climbing bad cholesterol number. It wasn't high enough for medicine but I didnt want it to get to that point. The most consistent change I made was in my breakfast eating habits. I alternated between Cheerios and Quaker Oatmeal each day. I also swapped out a snack a day to dry cheerios. Within 6 weeks my numbers were back to a level the doc was happy with. I can't pin point it specifically to the cheerios or the oatmeal but they were the two most consistent changes I made.
