What is your favorite for Thanksgiving dinner? Turkey or Ham?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I always have Turkey for Thanksgiving, and usually have to go to my Grandma's, and dress up, but last year was the best Thanksgiving ever. I had Turkey, watched Football and watched the Arrested Development marathon, and wore sweat pants. I also usually have ham for Christmas, and I just don't like it.

I prefer to have my mother's ham on Thanksgiving. She cooks the ham in water with brown sugar, then puts pineapple slices and juice in with the ham. Oooooooo. It's soooo tasty and delicious! The brown sugar and pineapple gives the ham a sweet taste to it! Every year my siblings and I beg her to make it for Thanksgiving! Turkey is good as well, but it's nothing compared to the ham my mother makes! The ham tradition is what makes my family's Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving! ^^

I actually prefer venison, but I do make both Turkey and Ham for guests. I've had the habit to cook both since when my cousin used to come to dinner. He hates turkey. I can't eat ham. So I make both.

We always have both. It is nice to have both for those of us who love to eat. It is also nice to have a choice for those of us who are picky. We are fortunate enough to have a large family where there is no such thing as having too much food. But if you are having a small gathering to celebrate this holiday, I think turkey is more traditional. If I had to choose just one for Thanksgiving it would be turkey for that reason even though ham is my favorite. I can always wait till Christmas or Easter when ham is more traditional.
