What is your favorite Christmas movie?

Tip for best answer: M$4.03
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I'm not real big on Xmas movies, Like most people here I've seen A Christmas Story more times than Star Wars. A fun thing to do is recite it line for line, it impressed my kids first time I did this only because they have not seen it a billion times like I have.

Although not strictly a Christmas movie(it takes place December 1958 and the focus is more on New Years), I love to watch this for the Holidays. It really reminds me of the Frank Capra films I used to watch with my Grandmother when I was a young Boy.

The Hudsucker Proxy

The Hudsucker Proxy is a 1994 screwball comedy film written, produced and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen. Sam Raimi co-wrote the script and served as the second unit director. The film stars Tim Robbins as a naïve business-school graduate who is installed as president of a manufacturing company, Jennifer Jason Leigh as a newspaper reporter, and Paul Newman as a company director who hires the young man as part of a stock scam.

The Coens and Raimi were inspired by the films of Preston Sturges, such as Christmas in July (1940) and the Hollywood satire, Sullivan's Travels.4 The sentimental tone and decency of ordinary men as heroes was influenced by films of Frank Capra, like Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (1936), Meet John Doe (1941) and It's a Wonderful Life (1946).

Naturally, I watch the "Christmas Story" every year, whether I want to or not. (My husband likes it). I'm not the every present optimist and movies with happy endings and glad messages are usually wasted on me. However I do like "The Ref" with Denis Leary and Kevin Spacey. Although I don't watch it year after year, I usually do look for it.

@dianemommyoftwo, My favorite Christmas movies are Miracle on 34th St (the original with Natalie Wood) and March of the Wooden Soldiers with Laurel and Hardy
My favorite specials are A Charlie Brown Christmas and the Rankin Bass specials.
My favorite part of Christmas is seeing all the happiness and joy and sharing it with family and friends.
