What is your favorite Christmas album/CD and why?

Please send links of where they can be purchased or listened to. Thanks!
Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Recently I was turned on to what I believe to be the best recorded Christmas music album. It’s A Charlie Brown Christmas by the Vince Guaraldi Trio.

Before giving it a listen I predicted it to be too Peanuts-cartoon to take seriously, but it turns out it’s the perfect thing. It’s jazzy, cool, and not too sugary, with just a hint of Christmas. Amazon is selling the Mp3 album for $4.99. And it’s an expanded version! You can sample some tracks and buy it here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UBJRS0?ie=UTF8&tag=wwwokaythings-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000UBJRS0

I must say that the alternate take of Greensleeves is pretty shiny.

My favorite Christmas album would be 'The Reindeer Room - A Christmas Chillout'

The album doesn't make you think of every other album out there and takes a fun new spin on the genre. It is also great because it can be something in the background that still allows you to have conversations with others around you! There is actually a series of these which are all great but the first one is by far the best.

Very different, but cool. I'll have to listen to this one some more.

Angelis is a french group Simon Cowell put together. Random, I know, but the man knows what sounds good, you have to be honest. This group is made up of six kids, all under the age of 16 (last I heard anyway). Their voices are simply heavenly. I tear up on some of these songs. They're that beautiful. This album has several Christmas favorites (in English!). I've been listening to it for the past 2 weeks straight, and it's really gotten me in the holiday spirit.

Here is a video of them singing O Holy Night:

There is some real talent here, it's a whole new side of Simon Cowell.

My favorite Christmas album is either Josh Groban's "Noel" or Michael Buble's "Let It Snow!"

Josh Groban's voice is always perfect, and "Noel" also features Brian McKnight and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, as well. (There's Faith Hill, but I'm not a fan.)

Michael Buble's voice is also perfect as always, but "Let It Snow!" has more cutesy songs than Josh Groban's album. They're equally great, in my opinion, but obviously they're of a different style.

While some people might rather have their eyes gouged out then listened to it, I still have a place in my heart for the Chipmunks Christmas album. While it may not be the best Christmas album ever, it brings back great memories for me.

Here's where you can buy it: http://www.amazon.com/Christmas-Chipmunks/dp/B001DSNFRS

Christmas with the Chipmunks is a classic... I'm not always in the mood for it, but it's a part of Christmas.

My favorite Christmas album has always been "John Denver & the Muppets: A Christmas Together." I've never been a big fan of John Denver, and I've never been a big fan of the Muppets, but put 'em together and you've got something special. It starts with "The Twelve Days of Christmas" which is really cool to listen to with headphones; every other line comes out of a different side of the speaker because the song is in stereo. It also features a really funny version of "Christmas is Coming" where Miss Piggy continues to sing after the song is over... I'd say my favorite song from the album is the Beach Boys' cover "Little St. Nick."
You'd be surprised at how good those Muppets can sing.

If you really are interested in purchasing it...

I enjoy Christian Aguilera's Christmas CD. It's got a great mix of traditional classics as well as some new ones.
