What is your favorite brand of hot sauce? Or do you have one that you can make at home?

I am a hot sauce fanatic, and I will eat a cayenne pepper sauce on just about anything. My favorite sauce by far is Frank's Red Hot sauce, but I occasionally experiment with others if I find something new. The Tabasco chipotle sauce is also good on a lot of things, and I use it to make a chipotle ranch dressing and for grilling burgers. One of may favorite stores of all time was this little boutique in Eureka Springs, Arkansas that sold over 300 different brands of hot sauce from all over the world. they also had these habanero cheese straws that were amazing. Do you have a personal favorite when it comes to hot sauce? Is there a brand that you like the best or have you tried making some at home?

Ohhhh gril! My favorite hot sauce by far is Tabasco Sauce! I use it in almost everything, just a touch, as I'm not a spicy food lover. Just a few drops added to a batch of deviled eggs or potato salad, or even soups and meats give it just that little zing that turns every ordinary dish into something fantastic!

I only use the red stuff, pouring anything green except pesto over anything I eat just scares me.

I also can't believe that for all the years I lived in Louisiana, I never went to Avery Island to take a tour of the plant. They have huge music and food festivals, and even offer printable Tabasco sauce coupons from their official site! (Must remember that for next time!)

I wish I could make hot sauce at home! You just gave me a wonderful idea, thank you!!
My husband is also a hot sauce fanatic. He will put hot sauce on everything and anything including scrambled eggs. (Note to self, maybe I cook to bland!) But in all seriousness, I do cook pretty good, my husband just enjoys the hot spiciness of hot sauce. I typically buy Tabasco Sauce, although I have tried a few other brands. It seems like the the favorite in this house remains the Tabasco Sauce. I do use it in cooking, a dash here and a dash there. I will read your post again to see if anyone shares a homemade recipe! My husband would truly love it, I am sure!

I am with you. I like Frank's Red Hot the best, second to that I like Louisiana Hot Sauce the best. I don't eat a great deal of hot sauce, but I have increased that since I read about it in an old cook book. I live in Kentucky and my allergies and sinuses give me problems. When I eat the hot sauce on my foods, it relieves the pressure and gets my sinuses to running. It's better than over the counter treatments in my book, and I am sure much more healthier.

I've never tried making my own hot sauce, but I have tinkered with chopping up hot peppers into a very fine relish. A very little of this goes a long way. I once licked the inside of a old habanero pepper and I had to hold my mouth under a facet of water for over 30 minutes.

My favorite kind of bottled hot sauce is Sriracha, a garlicky hot sauce that I fell in love with at my favorite Thai restaurant and have been buying ever since.

My favorite home-made hot sauce is an abomination I make out of pickled jalapenos, raw onions, fresh garlic and lime juice. It makes people cry, but they can't stop eating it.
