Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Sadness is not being aware of the simple joys in life that happen everyday, big or small they happen.

Hmm... your answer directly conflicts with my beliefs, BUT I can understand your point, it makes sense. You did it in one sentence. SO... I'm pegging you "helpful" if for any reason, you provide a valid argument!

Sadness can ultimately be defined as a great loss and is the grievance over the loss of something or someone in which we care about/for passionately or bears great importance, if not our own, then someone else's.

This is a very accurate assessment of what I originally believed, but I had to make an addendum to it (not change it). But very well put.

Sadness is an emotion that is driven by our sense of loss of something that we did not believe that we could live without.

P.S.

I really have to stop this.

Whats wrong? One sentence answers killing you? I view this little exercise as a way to not feel like I'm going all "Earnest Hemingway" on someone. heh

Sadness is a tool that allows me to measure happiness.

I like! And vaguely similar to my own. If I were having a meeting to 'redesign' sadness, then you would definitely be the "thinking outside the box" guy...

Sadness is recollecting, recalling or remembering what you once had and knew was good.

I'm liking this answer too! I may even be studying it to draw additional ideas! You even eloquently covered more that others have said while saying less!

For a person without depression, sadness is an emotion that we feel after a loss or (sometimes with me) realization or (stretching it a bit here) experiencing events that induce sadness.

Sometimes when I hear about war, or death, or inhumanity it makes me sad. There have been recent events in the Hmong history that make me sad.

You know, you're right. And I didn't pay attention to your rules either. Oops.

MMmm...I think others have already said it well, sadness is when you lose something dear to your heart. In the next two weeks I will be sad because I am without my wedding ring.

I love cheesecake too...without salt. :o)

you've described sadness as experiencing sadness... I'm betting this statement was missing a few words... :P
It happens to me too...
