What is your criteria for selecting which gasoline brand to buy? Is one brand better than another?

Why do you think one brand of gasoline is better than another?
Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

According to an article on MSN.com all gasolines are about the same. Since the '90s the government has required detergents to be put in gasoline to keep injectors clean and help cars run more efficiently. There may be some variation in the actual formula but the function is the same. So according to the article it really makes no difference what brand you fill your tank with.

If the gas ingredients is the same, why is there between a 5 to 10 cent variance on price?

I don't really look for specific brands of gas because one is better. I almost always go to BP, not because of the gas brand, but because they are always around and I have a rewards VISA card that I can use and get double the points.

I've also not had any problems since using their gas which is important to me due to the fact that my car has a Turbo engine which can be picky.
