What is your best apple pie recipe?

It's apple picking season again! My favorite time of the year. The orchards are full of heavily laden trees, the apples are ripe and delicious. Apples are super snacks but they also make wonderful desert ingredients.

Share with us your favorite apple pie recipe. Give us all the steps. Photos and videos are even better. How is it served? With ice cream or without? We're waiting...

My best apple pie recipe is very unique, and also a cheat to make.

1 deep dish extra flakey pre made pie crust
1 package phyllo dough
1 jar escalloped apples
4 granny smith apples, peeled cored, quartered and sliced thin
4-6 tablespoons butter
½ cup soaked plump raisins (drain off raisin liquid)
granulated sugar or bakers sugar
fresh cinnamon

pre heat the oven and poke a few holes in the bottom crust and pre bake it. This prevents ooey undercooked pie crust.
IN a deep bowl combine escalloped apples, fresh apples and drained raisins. Mix well. Pour into pre baked bottom crust and dot top of mixture with butter. Cover with phyllo dough and seal edges. Cut some small vent hole sand brush with butter again, and sprinkle some sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake until top crust is brown and apples are heated all the way through. Remove. When ready to serve I like grated extra, extra, aged sharp cheddar melted on top.

recipe 2
2 cans Crescent rolls
1 jumbo can splenda sweetened apple pie filling
cheddar cheese slices

Open both cans of crescent rolls. Using 1 and half cans for the bottom crust Lay cresent rolls so that they overlap in the pie pan covering the bottom and up the sides. Pre bake so that they are just brown and wont sog. When cool, dump in the canned filling and top with remaining crescent rolls.
Bake until the entire crust is flaky and brown. When ready to serve, lay some cheddar cheese slices on top and brown for a few minutes or serve with French vanilla ice cream. Or both, which is really good.
You can sprinkle baker’s sugar on top, or cinnamon sugar, colored sugar too before baking. To add this touch brush top with melted butter then sprinkle sugar on top then bake as you regularly would.

*Using the sliced apples, Fill 2/3 of the pan and Sprinkle cinnamon and a teaspoon of sugar on the apples.

*Next, get a medium bowl and mix the remaining sugar with the margarine. Add the pecans, the flour, the egg and the salt. Mix thoroughly and Spread the mixture over the sliced apples.
