My favorite pet was my pomeranian Prince. He was always right beside me and very protective. He came between me and my abusive husband many times and made him think twice about approaching me at that time. He died several years ago of cancer at the age of 12. I still miss him.

My all time favorite pet was my cat Puritan who died a few summers ago. I got her as a kitten from some co-workers at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire in DeVore, CA, so she reminded me of the 5 years I worked the fairs -- all the wacky times I had there and all the good company I kept there. Good times. Also, she was an interesting cat with lots of personality. She would wake me up by putting her mouth right next to my ear and clicking her tongue.

how can one answer such a question.

when I was a child we had a calico cat, her name was Calico... she taught me alot, mostly because we had to move for 1 year to another country and gave her to a farm. When we returned we went to visit her and she looked terrible. She taught me that most farm cats dont have the wonderful lives us city folk had thought and probably got me interested in animal welfare.

I have loved all my pets. Two that are especially special to me... one a horse I owned as a filly, a foal bought at an auction with her mom, both were under weight.... I trained her (I had been to college to learn how) and sold her later.. then 15 years later I was lucky enough to see her again still owned by the person who had bought her.

I also have a lamb (well she just turned 1 year) She was lucky to be alive after we found her outside wet when her mom gave birth and walked away.

after you spend many nights bottle feeding a sheep you really get attached!

It is tough if you're an animal lover, true. I think that's one reason why I thought it would be a good conundrum.
