What is truffles?

Why does Garland want America to fall in love with it?
Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Truffles are underground mushrooms. Very expensive and very hard to get. You can find those only using trained dogs or pigs (due to their smell).
It is said that if you put a truffle in your fridge all your products inside the fridge will smell like mushrooms in 24 hours.

In big restaurants from Europe "chiefs" can add a mushrooms flavor to any food if they only use one slide from the mushroom. They are used mainly in Italy.

As said they are very hard to get. In Europe you can sell 1KG for 800 EUROS. But that depends because there are many sub-species( black, brown, white, etc...).

Regarding your second question...I can't answer that, but my answer is based on my experience. Nothing from Google here...:)

Hope this helps!

Truffles is a fungal fruiting body that develops underground and relies on mycophagy for spore dispersal.

-quote-

"A truffle is a fungal fruiting body that develops underground and relies on mycophagy for spore dispersal. Almost all truffles are ectomycorrhizal and are therefore usually found in close association with trees."
