Todd's paralysis is something that happens to some people with epilepsy after a seizure. Some people, after an epileptic seizure, have one-sided weakness and possibly total paralysis. It's temporary, lasting up to a day and a half.
Doctors don't know what causes it.
Unfortunately, there's no treatment for the paralysis itself; if the patient just has weakness, nothing may need to be done anyway, and if there's total paralysis, the patient is just made comfortable until they regain the use of the paralyzed size of their body.
However, doctors will try to manage the epilepsy - if they can stop the seizures, the patient won't experience any more paralytic episodes.
