What is the worst remake of a song ever? And why?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

This one is easy. Seether remaking Wham's 1984 song "Careless Whisper."

They get double points for not only remaking a song, but also remaking an entire band; Nirvana.

Phil Collins - Groovy Kind of Love. He not only slows the tempo to a dirge, but gets the lyrics wrong, changing "if the world would shatter I don't care" (because I am deliriously happy) to "my whole world is shattered, I don't care" (completely the opposite). Just awful on many levels, and I like Phil Collins in general.

I would give that popularity to "the Petshops boys". In March 1991, a cover of U2's "Where the Streets Have No Name". Absolute waste of a fantastic song. Just did not suit their voices, style and image.

I would have to say Pantera's cover of "Bridge over troubled water" (Originally done by Simon & Garfunkel) was pretty bad. Saw them live once in Indianapolis, they closed with this song. It was wierd.
