By this point I wanted to call it quits, but my polite nature combined with some youthful stupidity prevented me from doing so.
We finally get to the restaurant. It was what we in Mexico call a taqueria. In the US it would be classified as a somewhat glorified taco stand. Don't get me wrong, it's good food. I love taquerias, but it's not the place you expect to be taken to on a first date. Mind you, Bob was not a financially struggling young man, he was a 25 year old second year associate at a law firm.
During our dinner he dominated the conversation, at most I got in 10 words.
From there we were supposed to go to the movies. En route to the cinema we got into a minor fender bender. Yes, it was Bob's fault. In spite of his culpability, he got into a physical altercation with the driver of the other car. The police arrived. His verbal belligerence continued with the police officer.
Here in Mexico you really do not want to do that. When he realized that he was now on the losing end of this scenario he tried to extricate himself from it. The amount of cash he had on his person was, let us say, not sufficient to convince the local constabulary from carrying out their duty. Bob actually asked me how much money I had on my person.
My polite nature and youthful stupidity reared its head again, I gave him what I had, the equivalence of about $75 US dollars. After all of this, I just wanted to be taken home. Bob, Mr. cheap-o, ill-mannered, belligerent, traffic menace, loser actually made, let us say, an indecent and suggestive move on me as he was dropping me off.
I don't think I would win the award for worst date, but I know that my experience with Bob definitely entitles me at least to an honorary mention.

M$But I got on a date with someone who turned out to look different and was a lot older than he claimed himself to be. I was around 22 at the time, he was 40. I thought he was 23. All through the date he said how many achievements he got: 4 masters degree, working at US government, etc etc etc. (gosh, I still remember) When he found out about my involvement in AIDS prevention group at my university, he told me that AIDS only happened to gay and AIDS that happened to women are just plot to cover the truth and be politically correct. Yeah right, you stupid bigoted ass.
He kept staring at my breasts throughout the date. UGh... perverted, lying, old man. He texted me the next day about something, but I ignored him.
