What is the weight of a "seal shark"?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

From the sources...

The kitefin shark, seal shark, or black shark, Dalatias licha, is a dogfish, the only species in the genus Dalatias, found in the Atlantic, western Mediterranean, western Indian Ocean, and western Pacific including Japan, Australia, Hawaii, and New Zealand.

Most of those caught are between 40 and 60 inches long; 72 inches is the longest recorded so far. A Gulf of Maine specimen was about 5 feet long and weighed 23½ pounds, gutted.

A study of an albino specimen included this sample group...

Total weight (in grams): 3351, 3275, 3415, 3407, 3041, 3442, 3257, 3208, 3216, 3417, 3320, 3427, 2941, 3319, 3560, 2679, 3428, 3311

This shark is a solitary, epibenthic species found in tropical and warm-temperate regions. They are most commonly found in the deepest shelf and upper slope waters, usually at depths of 656-1,970 feet (200-600 m), but have been taken from depths of 121-5,900 feet (37-1,800 m). It hovers above the seabed, swimming well off the bottom.
