What is the vocal technique called when people speak like the Shmoo/Glomer from Punky Brewster cartoons/Bungee/Gizmo from Gremlins?
This question comes from a blog post (http://www.jonathancoulton.com/2010/06/11/glomer/) and I myself was surprised that there is no name for this particular vocalization. Any ideas?
Thanks!

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

In classical bel canto singing, any sound not produced using the strict bel canto method is considered "falsetto" or false.
"...the Bel Canto technique does not address the falsetto register, as it is not considered part of your real voice,..."
Perhaps this technique could be termed as a "falsetto voice over"?

But it's not really singing...it's a voice characterization. Has Frank Welker (http://www.frankwelker.net/) ever named the technique?
