What is the Tea Party?
What issues is the Tea Party for? What are their main political stances?

Hi @cachemoney! Tea Party is a movement populist, conservative and libertarian political movement in the U.S. The protest made by this movement is due to several Federal laws such as the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and other series of health care reform bills that were created and proposed.
The term "tea party" refers to the Boston Tea Party which is a 1773 incident where colonists destroyed British tea instead of paying what they considered a tax that violated their right, letting them pay taxes without representation. As of 2010, Tea Partyis just a movement and not a national political party and its name has not appeared on any ballots.
Scott Rasmussen who is a pollster said that the bailouts of banks by Bush and Obama administrations triggered the Tea Party's emergence. The movement has no central leadership and its primary concern's include but are not limited to cutting back the size of government, lowering taxes, lowering wasteful spending, reducing the national debt and federal budget deficit.
