What is the strangest pet you have ever seen before?

When I lived in Alabama, a friend of mine owned a pig as a pet, she treated this pig like it was a dog! What is the strangest pet that you have ever seen someone own? Did they treat them the same as you would a typical family pet? Or was it more of them just owning that animal? If you have pictures that would be great as well!

The strangest pet I have ever seen is an anteater. I have heard that people are beginning to use this termite eating exotic animal s house pets, but I never took it serious until I saw one myself.

I had gone to visit my aunt who wasn’t feeling to fine, but when I got to her house, there was no one at home. So I decided to leave a note with her next door neighbor. I just knock and when the door was opened, I was greeted by a very strange looking long mouthed animal. I must confess that I froze. The anteater had a leach tied around it and it was like it was about to go for a walk with the owner.

That is the strangest pet I have ever seen.

Two chickens

I grew up with two "house chooks" called....oh this is sad...Chickadee and Chickadoo

They lived mostly outside but were alllowed inside. They would perch on the end of the bed in the morning and I'd wake up to a chook sitting looking at me! We had a big chicken coop but only two pet chooks.

They would slide, as they came running, on the tiles in the kitchen when you shook the rolled oats packet...we used to play a game about which one would get inside first when you shook the packet hehehehe...feathers flying they pushed through the screen door to get inside!

other people thought it was strange but I liked my pets

edit: I also knew a family with a pet pig...he worn a hat and would help round up his flock of females at the end of the day...if one got out he went to the farmhouse kitchen window and picked up his hat. That meant he needed letting out into the other paddock to get the lost female :)

The strangest pet I have ever seen was a raccoon. My neighbors down the street had found a baby raccoon lost and on its own and decided to help it. One day led to another and before you knew it the raccoon was a permanent pet. They treat him like a dog, I believe they lock him up at night but I am not certain. I am super afraid of him still, although he was raised from a baby and is probably nice, I really do not want to get close. I guess if you get a strange "not typical" pet as a baby, I bet you can raise him to be loving and safe to have around children, but I personally am better off sticking with dogs or fish. I can predict their behavior, for the most part, and I know I will not scare off neighbors from visiting. On the other hand maybe that is the idea (kidding of course!)
