What is the simplest way to connect 2 pc networks without cables?
thanks!
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

"I have 3 machines connected to the router (also use 2 laptops with wireless connection). I'm trying to figure out what to get and how to set it up in order to connect 2 more machines (by Ethernet) that sits in the other room, but I can't run cable there.... seems like I need a bridge, but have no clue what to get. "
"unfortunately machines in the other room HAS to be wired" - I WONDER WHY.
-------------------------------------
Option 1: is to use either USB WiFi or PCI wifi adapter on those two desktops to connect to the network wirelessly. Netgear has models listed here in this link:
PCI Adapter (WG311T) and USB 2.0 Adapter (WG111T). There are more options for USB and PCI adapters.

Option 2: is to enable Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on one of the laptops already connected via WiFi and connect the ethernet port of the laptop and other two desktops to an ethernet switch. For more info on ICS
How to configure Internet Connection Sharing in Windows XP
I also assumed that you have a wifi enabled lapop running windows xp with an ethernet port for option 2.

Option 3: is to use a wireless router that is capable working as a repeater/bridge (one example: BuffaloTech WBR-G54) and then connecting the deskptops as shown. I will confirm and add more options for this AP with similar functions.

You can get more info on
BuffaloTech router here.
Option 4: is to use Ethernet over Powerline adapters. Here is questions related to this with some review and recommendations.
Anyone use powerline ethernet adapters at home?
Here you can find Ethernet over power adapter options and prices that range from $60- $120 per pair. Google Search
I will add more details in this option too.

Hope this helps. Since, not all wireless routers are capable of working as a repeater, I will add more details for option 3 as I research more.

M$Why do you have 2 networks? Do both networks have there own and different connection to the internet?
Are both routers WiFi?
Are both networks in the same location/house? If not how far away are they?
What brand routers?
Whey no cables? No ports left? don't want to run Cat5/6 in the house?
If you have 2 WiFi routers that are in range of each other then make one a bridge/extender. Also if they are in the same building then you could use a power over ethernet solution
If both networks have there own and different connection to the internet, then you can then setup a VPN between the two. I use Hamachi² for my VPN it's free. https://secure.logmein.com/US/products/hamachi2/

Hope this is helpful, I will give more detail when you answer the question above.

M$sorry the question wasn't clear.
Both clusters will be using same connection to internet.
At this point I have just one wireless NetGear router (don't recall the model right now, but there is 624 at the end).
I have 3 machines connected to the router (also use 2 laptops with wireless connection). I'm trying to figure out what to get and how to set it up in order to connect 2 more machines (by Ethernet) that sits in the other room, but I can't run cable there.... seems like I need a bridge, but have no clue what to get.
thank you.
OK as I now understand it you just need to connect 2 more computer to the network.
Option 1
If Wifi signal can reach, add WiFi card or USB WiFi stick to the computer in the room.
Option2
If Wifi signal reaches install a access point (AP) or router in bridge mode. Then you can connect the Ethernet cables from the AP to the computers.
Option 3
You can use power over Ethernet. There are adapters that have more then one Ethernet port. I saw one at Best Buy with 3 Ethernet ports. Connect one adapter to the last Ethernet port on your switch/router then plug it into the wall. The other adapter, plug it into the wall outlet and run the Ethernet cables to your computer. This the most expensive like $100, But you will get up to 200mb.
There are also adapters for you unused cable wire or phone wire but they are expensive and harder to find.
Option one will be cheapest but you will have less speed then wired Ethernet.
Option 2 is also cheap but it can be difficult to add the 2nd AP to the network. Try to use the same brand APs. Some brands will be very easy, examples Apple Airports and Buffalo are simple. Airports have a wizard that does it for you.
Hope this was helpful.
I think option 3 will be best for you. You will be able steam video over this connection. Do not plug into a power strip it will stop this from working.
thank you antonerich - great answers - I know what to do now

Very good examples.
Happy that I was able to help you. For option 4, Ethernet over Powerline, you can also two separate pairs of adapters for each of the deskptops if they are not close to each other.
I listed this as the last one though it is simpler, is because it involves EoPL and has mixed reviews.
I am actually using option 2 in my basement for a different reason, not because of the coverage issue.
This was nominated for AOTD
it looks like option 3 or 4 will work best for me - really good examples - thank you!
