Peace, in society is often thought of as the absence of conflict. This might mean conflict between nations, as in war. A nation is said to be at peace when it is not invovled in any wars or conflicts with foreign entities.

Peace in society is also thought of as an abscence of violence. In a peaceful community, it is safe to walk any street, alone, at any time of day or night. There is no fear of assault, murder, rape, or robbery.

Peace as a personal quality is the lack of apprehension over present and future troubles. It is described as a state of calmness and contentment. In Christianity, peace is sometimes described as a result of prayer... "let your requests be made known unto God, and the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." (Phillipians 4:6) Often, it seems, Christians pray not so much to change God's mind and impose their own will upon Him, but in order to receive that great gift of peace, no matter the circumstances.

Peace is when you believe you are exactly where you should be in the universe, and you are completey content to be there.

Hi,
here is Dictionary.com's definition of Peace,

"1. the normal, nonwarring condition of a nation, group of nations, or the world.
2. ( often initial capital letter ) an agreement or treaty between warring or antagonistic nations, groups, etc., to end hostilities and abstain from further fighting or antagonism: the Peace of Ryswick.
3. a state of mutual harmony between people or groups, especially in personal relations: Try to live in peace with your neighbors.
4. the normal freedom from civil commotion and violence of a community; public order and security: He was arrested for being drunk and disturbing the peace.
5.cessation of or freedom from any strife or dissension.
6. freedom of the mind from annoyance, distraction, anxiety, an obsession, etc.; tranquillity; serenity.
7. a state of tranquillity or serenity: May he rest in peace.
8. a state or condition conducive to, proceeding from, or characterized by tranquillity: the peace of a mountain resort.
9. silence; stillness: The cawing of a crow broke the afternoon's peace.
10. ( initial capital letter, italics ) a comedy (421 b.c.) by Aristophanes."

Apparently, there are many meanings for the word Peace. Personally I think Peace means something different for everyone. Peace to me is sitting in front of the ocean and listening to the waves. This washes all my fears and worries away and makes me feel tranquil. I am sure everyone has something unique to them that makes them feel peaceful.

I also think Peace means everyone getting along in harmony. This world could use quite a bit more Peace in my opinion.
