What is the proper amount to tip for a haircut?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

This depends on where you go, how much the hair cut costs, and what it looks like. If your hair cut is ten dollars or less, two or three dollars is appropriate. The higher the hair cut, the bigger the tip. However, if you have had a bad experience, rude service, or a bad hair cut you are not obligated to leave a tip unless your stylist does his/her best to fix the issue. While you don't want to be cheap, you don't want to break the bank getting a hair cut! Opt for ten to thirty percent.

That seems kind of low if the price is not that high to begin with.

Depending on how good the stylist is, I would recommend 10-20%. If the stylist did something extraordinary you could go higher.
