What is the preferred method of online product delivery?
Is downloading the method often used for digital media products such as software, music and movies? Is shipping used to deliver product to a customer designated third party?

Hi there.
There is no generally preferred method for online product delivery. Factors that may affect people's preference will depend mostly on cost and time of shipping. Downloading is preferred by a lot of people because it's convenient and they instantly get what they paid for. Some would rather buy the CD if it's the cheaper choice. There are of course other reasons that may affect people's preference like for instance with music, if you just like one or two songs from an artist, why buy the whole CD if you can buy the songs separately. Check this link for a more detailed comparison between digital and CD, http://www.tested.com/news/cds-vs-download-vs-streaming-how-do-you-get-your-music/356/.
I'm not quite sure what you want to know about customer designated third party delivery but if a product is transferred from one place to another then shipping will definitely be used and a shipping cost will be charged.
Hope that answers your questions.
