I think it's impossible to know 100% for sure which river is the oldest in the world. They can only speculate through things like: rock formations, floodplains, sediment deposits, fossils and flow of the water.
It is thought that the The Nile River is possibly the oldest in the world. Second oldest is believed to be New River Gorge, which is in the Appalachian Mountains in West Virgina. It is said to have cut through about 350 million years worth of the earth.
Most people think that it is the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. It doesn't seem so. I live close to the Appalachian Mountains and recently the government cleaned out a river here. They found tusks of woolly mammoths. It's pretty neat.
