The name of the child actor who played Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars:The Phantom Menace was Jake Lloyd. In Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith it was Hayden Christensen. Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker in the Original trilogy was physically played by David Prowse, voiced by James Earl Jones, shown as Sebastian Shaw, and stunts were performed by Bob Anderson.
Just over 3,000 child actors auditioned for the role of Anakin Skywalker in North America and the United Kingdom. They included actors Michael Angarano (Sky High), Erik von Detten (The Princess Diaries), Justin Berfield (Malcolm in the Middle), and Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense). The choice narrowed to three actors, all of whom were interviewed by Lucas and then screen-tested with Natalie Portman, who played Queen Amidala. Jake Lloyd was chosen from the final three actors to play Anakin in the film. Casting director Robin Gurland initially thought Lloyd was too young to play the role, but several years later, after meeting Lloyd again, Gurland believed he was an appropriate choice for the part.
Since his role, Lloyd has been in one film entitled Madison (2005). He has also provided voice work for several video games related to his film role in Star Wars. Aside from that he has not been seen in anything since.
