What is the most popular form of jazz music?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I'm a musician and Jazz fan and if I had to guess I would say Bebop or Hard bop.
I know swing was really popular as well so...

Hello @culverc! Jazz music is a combination of swing notes, back beats and blues with brass instruments. These combination with different factors make different types of jazz.
One of the popular and earliest forms of jazz was the New Orleans Dixieland jazz. This genre is credited with giving birth to jazz tradition that created jazz standards like "When the Saints Go Marching In."
This form of jazz dominated the scene in the early part of the 20th century from 1819 to-1928. It is famous for its ragtime jazz sound which was played over rhythm part that is unusual for jazz musicals show. This rhythm sections often has guitars, banjos and drums.

In the 1930s another form of jazz which is called "swing" dominated the time through World War II. This genre became the main form of American popular music for majority of this time and introduced in the U.S. to big bands and band leaders. This is also named for its strong swing notes played in unique jazz style.
