What is the most creative way you've punished your child?

Once in a while the traditional forms we use to punish our children don't seem to fit the crime. Over the years I had used a couple of different approaches that worked.

Skipping the soap, spankings and other conventional punishments and be creative.

Whats the most creative way you have punished your child(ren)?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I posted on this before, but once my son wouldn't listen to me when he had his DS open, so I punished him by forcing him to play it for hours non stop, no homework, no dinner, just play.

I told him if the DS is that important, than he can tell his teachers his homework wasn't done because he had to play his DS.

He was hungry and wanted dinner, I said "not dinner time, play time" and threw him a soda and a bag of chips and ordered him to not stop playing.

He was in tears by 3 hours of non stop playing and I let him off the hook.

To this day when someone talks to him and he has it DS open he shuts it immediately. No longer is that toy or game as important as when someone talks or asks him a question :)

By sending the child to boot camp. Boot camp works.

My son wouldn't ever clean his room after numerous request. So I took his Pirates of the Caribbean pirate ship he had gotten for Christmas, had him watch me bust it up into pieces and throw it into the garbage. Oh, he cried with each piece I slowly tossed into the trash. Told him if he didn't start cleaning up... that would happen to all of his favorite toys. Now when I want him to clean, if he hesitates... I say do it, or I'll throw your toys in the trash.
