Swedish food is varied and interesting, very fresh and often home cooked. They eat fish and elk steaks, hotdogs and creamy rich sauces...Some of the most popular dishes are
Gravad Lax - salmon with sugar, salt and dill, often served with a sweet and sour mustard sauce.
Husmanskost is Swedish smörgåsbord - lots of hot and cold small dishes served buffet style.
Köttbulla - swedish meatballs are famous and use a simple recipe with lots of sauce, often onion sauce. Sounds delicious!

I found a great site that has recipes and more about the history and types of food eaten in Sweden. There was too much to write and say here so I highly recommend it :)
