in fact, some insanity can truly make your day!
Some use a pinch of it just for good measure
but others crave cupfuls and slurp it for pleasure.
Some claim to be normal and to be the sane eye
for a friend they think of as a straitjacket guy.
Some might be seen as pathologically perky
while others prefer words like eccentric and quirky.
Some follow every rule from their job description
but others aren't at all afraid to have a conniption.
Is it underachievement? Is it overstimulation?
There seems to be plenty of insanity in every great nation.
Define it however you choose, and so then shall I--
we could go spinning in circles or laugh all day 'til we cry.
I'll hang on to my sanity the best that I can
regardless of big, stinky messes hitting the fan.
The loss of my mind would be measured in pieces and bits
and I may need to slap myself to gather my wits.
If you discover me on that flaming road of good intentions
it may mean I'm just checking out my mind's eye's inventions.
Yet if it's quite clear to you that I've lowered the bar
please fight against those forces which pushed me too far.
