What is the life expectancy of a Zune and/or it's battery?
I have had one of the original Zunes, a 30GB, for almost 2 years now if my memory serves me correctly, and the battery doesn't seem to last longer than an hour, in fact it never has, so I am wondering what the average life expectancy of the Zune and/or it’s battery are. Do these things tend to last only a couple years and then it’s time for a new one? Did I maybe get a defective one from the start? What are some reviews on the duration of a Microsoft Zune? Does the batteries juice deplete more if I play my music louder? If I play games?

According to http://www.zunescene.com/zune-battery-life/ the Zune 30 battery life should be 13 hours for audio and wireless on, 14 hours for audio with wireless off, but less than 4 hours for video. As the number of discharge/recharge cycles mount, the battery capacity degrades and you will get lower performance. These numbers are reasonably in accord with the (slightly lower) numbers presented by http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/17/zune-battery-life-12-hours-music-3-5-hours-video/ .
According to the first site, the Zune 80 gets much more battery life:

The Zune team has managed to massively improve the Zune 80 battery life over the original Zune 30 battery life. The new specs indicate 30 hours of audio and 4 hours of video for the new Zune 80. The Zune 8 and Zune 4 are close behind with 24 hours audio and 4 hours of video. These tests were performed under nominal conditions, so actual user experience may be different. Zune 2 battery life improvements may be the most practical enhancement to the new lineup.
