I find this question to be a very interesting one because i've been noticing a lot of activity on infowars.com accusing this site of being part of a domestic cointelpro campaign. I somehow think this is purely delusional paranoia but it makes for a good mystery. Anyways it seems that absolutely know one new wtf they were talking about on the answers page besides that it's purpose is unbiased user generated news service. Hope this helps!

M$It appears to be a website devoted to off-topic subjects similar to Fark.com with maybe a bent to NWO activist type websites. It appears to link to lots of external sites like a blog and also allows user input of articles. It seems to be a mix of a blog/magazine.

M$The ithp allows people to write and share articles with the world. The idea is that regular people with an interest in current events can contribute to the flow of information.
A few corporations (ie. Time Warner, Viacom, News Corp) currently have a monopoly over the majority of the media outlets around the world. These corporations have alternative motives (namely money) behind what they publish. They cannot afford to tell the complete truth less they offend advertisers. They cannot tell the complete truth if it would put them at risk of financial loss.
Thus the public gets either a watered down or over senzationalized version of world events. The regular old person cannot trust what they see on their nightly news . The ithp is giving the voice back to the people to help free the press
