What is the importance of music in your life?

What does music mean to you? Share a memory, or an experience where a simple tune showed you something about life. Does music really make the world go round? What do you think?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Yeah!
For me Music is the best distraction. It distracts me from studyin' (Like I study much!). But i think music is a good therapy for stress removal and mind tune-up. But only if ye choose good music.

I listen to English music very much and I also like other foreign language music. But many times some songs remind me of some particular times. Like Bohemia's raps remind me of my Hostels days.

While I had to sleep in the night I like to listen soft music, probably I prefer Sikh Shabads (I'm a Sikhs). But if I had to talk my whole day then I'm mixed, Jour Bon Jovi, Milk Inc., Black Eyed Peas, Eminem, Linkin Park, Enrique and Avril, etc.

But there is no life without music.

Music is more than just one thing for me. It soothes me, comforts me, lifts me up & overall is therapy. Its universal & accepting in all cultures. Without music can we have no communication, no social connection to anything or anyone. No music makes for a quiet & uptight world.

Music is the way that keeps me away from anxiety. Whenever I feel upset I just on my iPod and set the earphone in my ear. All my anxiety, leave me. I can say MUSIC is my life.

Hi. What a sad place the world would be without music!! I am not a musician, but love many types of music. We all have certain songs that remind us of people we love, or have loved) I believe that music is necessary in our lives! Children dance and sing to music, and learn speaking skills. What would a beautiful wedding ceremony be without the chosen music! Churches would be nearly silent without the music and singing of it's parishioners. In many parts of the world, funerals have there own special music that is chosen by the family members. Concerts, festivals, how could we be without them! Yes, i believe music is very important to everyone in the world!

Music hits a deep chord in my soul. Not sure what it is but I feel that it's supernatural. Even the poppier tunes do something to satisfy me. Without music, the air is filled with silence and feels blank and empty. I feel a sense of death sometimes.

There have been all types of music that has changed me. mewithoutYou's A to B Life helped me through a really rough spot just after I gave up on this girl that, after awhile, stopped returning my affection. It was heartbreak.

It also seems that my favorite bands mirror phases that I go through in my life. I often get the same exact feelings from them that I get from events in my life. Blindside's album About A Burning Fire did that for me. One moment in particular where I was out on the lake at the camp where I was working in the middle of the night looking up at the moon and suddenly felt really close to God was later encapsulated by the song on that album called "Shekina."

Yeah... I love my music. :D
