San Salvador is the capital city of El Salvador.Before the Spanish Conquest. the "Pipil" had a capital there called Cuscatlán, it was abandoned by the natives to avoid Spanish rule. Pedro de Alvarado ordered his men to develop a city in a nearby settlement location. The town of SanSalvador was founded on April 1, 1525 and rebuilt in 1528 and 1545. The population of the city grew slowly.
