What is the highest recorded wind speed?
I'm curious about the highest recorded consistent wind speed and the highest recorded "occasional" gust. :) Thanks

According to http://www.mountwashington.org/about/visitor/recordwind.php "During a wild April storm in 1934, a wind gust of 231 miles per hour (372 kilometers per hour) pushed across the summit of Mount Washington."
There are several sources (e.g. http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=103127 ) where discussions claim sustained wind speeds in excess of 185 miles per hour (296 kilometers per hour) for hurricanes Camille and Allen.
