What is the guilty pleasure in your music library?

Come on... you know we all have one...

Mine? The Spice Girls!
Tip for best answer: M$4.12
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I have about 4 King Missile CDs.
Of course I have the Detachable Penis song, but they have created quite a few silly and outrageous songs that I have to listen to every once and a while... just to get my giggle on.

It was the new theme he took of late, coupled with him being a genuinely good entertainer. Look up his appearance on the Jimmy Kimble show.
And he even got 2 Emmy Awards for his work on SNL. After my last romance broke me, his songs about love and betrayal did a lot for me,

Please understand that I feel really terrible for admitting that I actually have these on my computer... but I'll just go down the list haha

2 Live Crew - Me so Horny
ACDC - Dirty Deeds
Akon - Smack That
Biz Markie - Just a Friend
Eminem - Shake That
Lady Sovereign (several)
Peaches - The Teaches of Peaches
Salt N Pepper - Push It
Say Anything - Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too (She Touch Herself)
Sublime - Caress Me Down

Okay, don't play the video if you offend easy... it is the clean version but it's still not that great. Yes, this are my guilty pleasures because I like them but I feel GUILTY as all get out listening to them!

***Now I am going to hang my head in shame for sometime***

I saw this talented gentleman for the first time, believe it or not, on a soap opera called Santa Barbara in the late 1980's. His voice and songs won me over then, and are now one of my guilty pleasures.

First of all, let me try to explain how much I hate disco music. Back in the 1970's, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Steppenwolf, The Eagles, Kiss, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Bob Seger, and a host of other bands were rocking our world. We should have known something was up when Boston and Foreigner came along with a bit of a different sound, but before we knew it there it was, all around us, every where we turned. It was AWFUL, worse than the Glen Miller eight track Dad gave us for Christmas one year. I hated Disco, my friends hated Disco, my parents hated Disco, heck my SON hates disco. It was worse than country (which I secretly loved). Disco was so bad that on July 12, 1979, an entire baseball stadium full of disco haters brought disco records in lieu of tickets one night, and between the first and second game of a double header at Comisky Park, they all celebrated their hatred of disco by burning the devil spawn discs. Things got out of hand, as often happens around disco, and the second game was never played.
To this day I believe that punk rock was at least partially a reaction against Disco, any teen with an ounce of self respect said "Hell no, I won't listen to or play that...whatever it is", and they picked up thier out-of-tune guitars, learned three chords and a snarl, and the gift of punk rock was born.

So imagine my consternation and my shame when I am compelled to confess that my secret pleasure song is John Travolta dancing to the Bee Gees "You should be Dancin"
The godfather of Disco dancing strutting his stuff to the godfathers of disco music on the godfather of disco movies, Saturday Night Fever. Oh the shame. But I like it. Always have, always will. I turn it on and do the little Travolta moves that my limited mobility body will alow, and I dance like there's no tomorrow while singing "what you doin in the back, you should be dancin AH"

One year I was visiting my Dad. The Sopranos that year opened with this old Kingston Trio song about the tire company, playing as we watched what has happened since the end of season one. This was on the soundtrack.

Black Kids: Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend To Dance With You

It's not a type of music I would normally listen to. However, I happened across it playing in a store and found it catchy and the music video lots of fun!

This was a great song from 1976 or 77. In between that period. You just have to have the romantic side in you to appreciate this song.

I have several, but Heavy Metal is my guilty pleasure. I am a Pastor and I want to be praising God every chance I get, so I listen to a lot of gospel. My children watch, and listen to R&B. But every now and then I get to listen to heavy metal bands like Metalica, and Guns and Roses.

Mine is Michael Jackson, I think the entire Thriller album is great, but most of my family and friends go into a real Jackson bashing frenzy, so I have to sneak listening or watching the video.
