What is the easiest way of sharing files from Windows Vista to a machine running xubuntu?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

If you want to share files using internet then try some web based application. I would suggest you to check Banckle File Sharing application which is free for one year and have some of the best security features.

You can access Banckle File Sharing at : http://banckle.com/apps/file-sharing/default.html

Would this depend on the kind of file? For example if I was trying to do a Word doc, I would use clipboard and then paste the file into my google docs. Then I could access it from anything. I've done this. Excel? I'm not sure. Never tried it. A jpg? I don't think that this would be difficult.

I'm not that familiar with linux and how it handles avi files. I suppose that I would set up an email account on my linux box and email the avi's. But I see how a shared folder would be faster and easier.

I'm trying to set up a shared folder so I can transfer .avi files from my main PC (vista) across a network share to my linux box connected up to a TV via my wireless network, hence its a bit impractical to put it up in the cloud ;-)
