what is the easiest (and cheapest) MIDI-to-PC interface available?
I'd like to interface my MIDI keyboard to a PC, but have no idea how. What would be the easiest way to hook them together? Would I need any special software? If so, could I get a rundown on the price and functionality of some of the most popular ones?
thank you.

Have a look at: USB MIDI Cable Converter PC $7.95 + shipping (from Amazon.com)
http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Converter-Music-Keyboard-Window/dp/B0017H4EBG
According to the product information page, it works with Windows Vista/XP and Mac OS X.
Other features:
- Turn your PC into a music studio by connecting a music keyboard to your computer with the USB MIDI cable
- Easy to install with built-in driver; USB powered, no AC adapter needed
- 1 in + 1 out MIDI interface; 16 MIDI input channels & 16 MIDI output channel
The USB interface is good as newer computers or laptops might not have soundcard game port (port where MIDI usually connects to PC).
This website is good for further reading if you are looking for alternatives on how to connect MIDI to PC
