In 2007, the Chinese yuan/U.S. dollar exchange rate was 6.83 yuan to every $1. In 2008, the Chinese yuan/U.S. dollar exchange rate was 7.30 yuan to every $1, making the increase 0.47 yuan to every $1 from 2007 to 2008.
