The main difference between Wild Rice and Long Grain Rice is that Wild Rice is not a rice at all. It is in fact, a type of grass. I don't understand what you mean by "Is Wild Rice and Long Grain Rice made the same way?" you can grow rice and harvest it, or you can cook rice, so I'm not sure how to answer you.
True Wild Rice is an expensive delicacy, it is very difficult to harvest due to the fragility of the stalks. It cannot be harvested from motorized boats as the disruption in the water sends the stalks to the bottom. It is also difficult to buy. Because of this a commercial, hybrid version of wild rice has been created by the University of Minnesota. This type is what is most often found in grocery stores, but the taste is not the same.
Long grain rice is seen in every supermarket, it is cheap but has little taste, with the exception of the more expensive Basmati Rice, this is the best long grain variety.
